ANCO is the world's leading supplier of eccentric mass vibrators for field testing of civil structures. These field-portable systems attach to equipment and structures to determine their response to sinusoidal forcing over a range of frequencies. This allows you to estimate resonant frequencies, damping, mode shapes, and other dynamic properties. Knowledge of actual dynamic properties is used to validate and improve analytical models, reveal margins unjustifiable by analysis alone, determine the source of troublesome vibrations, detect damage, and perform basic research into the dynamics of linear and nonlinear structures. PC-based controllers perform digital data acquisition. Automatic test setup and control are also available. ANCO vibrators have been used by universities and research laboratories to test dams, boiler structures, nuclear power plant containments, bridges and internal equipment, equipment, foundations, offshore oil platforms, ships, stacks, floors, office buildings, isolated structures, and storage tanks. The table below notes ANCO standard models. The vibrators can be unidirectional or omnidirectional, impart force in the vertical and/or horizontal direction, and synchronize with other units. Custom systems are available.
